Discover the stunning riverside town of Mannum

Mannum is a charming historic river town nestled on the banks of the Murray River, known for its relaxed pace, rich heritage and beautiful natural surroundings. With its riverside walks, paddle steamers, local cafés and welcoming community atmosphere, Mannum offers the perfect blend of country charm and river lifestyle, making it an ideal destination for getaways, celebrations and special occasions.

Mannum is central to many great attractions. Here are a few things we recommend to do while in town.

Why Choose Villa Firestone?

Villa Firestone stands out as a truly special destination because it is deeply connected to the character, beauty and lifestyle of Mannum itself. Set in the heart of this historic Murray River town, it places guests moments from river experiences, paddle steamers, riverside walks, local cafés and regional attractions, while offering a beautiful heritage base to return to. It’s the perfect place to stay, celebrate and gather while immersing yourself in everything Mannum and the Murray River region have to offer.

The Mighty Murray River

After a very long journey along the NSW and Victorian boarders, and through the South Australian outback, the Murray River eventually passes through Mannum on its way to the Murray Mouth near Goolwa.

Over millions of years, the river has carved through the lands and created spectacular cliff faces, sweeping bends, and diverse habitats for a wide range of birds and wildlife. Today, the river attracts water enthusiasts galore. Whether it’s for fishing, canoeing, water skiing, or gentle river cruises, there really is a pace to suit everyone.

The Murray Princess, Proud Mary, PS Mayflower and PS Marion are all cruising regularly from and around Mannum. You can book a cruise for a few hours or a few days; the choice is yours.

The International Dark Sky Reserve

The River Murray Dark Sky Reserve is an area of more than 3,200 square kilometers and is immediately north of Mannum. Established in 1970, Swan Reach Conservation Park is the Reserve’s core site due to its exceptional natural darkness. On a clear dark night, you can witness a magnificent display of stars stretched across the sky. It has to be seen to be believed.

A great local tour operator is Kelly Kuhn, of Juggle House Experiences. Kelly can introduce the Dry Sky Experience in a special way with her packaged group tours, which includes great transport. Get a group together, stay at Harbour, and let Kelly introduce the Dark Sky’s to you. Now there’s a unique adventure.

Get in touch and make this experience a highlight of your trip to Mannum.
